DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIONS

The programme lasts 24 months with the following prospects:
Creation of a database with the Repatriated Greeks from ex-USSR and now living in Western Athens
Creation, organisation and operation of a Centre for the social and vocational accession of Repatriated Greeks
Co-operation with Municipality supporting offices that will help vocational integration of immigrants
Training of consultants for legal services, support and information services to Repatriated Greeks
Tuition of Greek Language and enterprising training (for retailers)
Production of a training package for Greek language learning
Vocational orientation programmes - accession of repatriated retailers to the legal economy
Creation, organisation and operation of a commercial Centre for Repatriated Greeks (retailer) at the Municipality of Ilion

ANALYSIS OF MEASURE 1

1st ACTION: Development of Information Services and Tools for the Labour Market

Recording of the Repatriated Greeks that staying at Western Athens in collaboration with their associations. The recording will include all the demographic, economic and education characteristics of the population
Creation of a database with the above elements. This database will be a tool for continuous support to the Repatriated Greeks, will renew dynamically and the executives of the Centre will have all the necessary information about their target group

2nd ACTION: Establishment of model centres for reception, orientation and social-training services with direct offer

Study about the creation and operation of the Repatriated Greeks’ support Centre. This study will predict the Centre’s actions - operation, the offering services to the target group, the relation with local authorities and the State. It will determine Centre’s legal status
Establishment, organisation and operation of the Centre for Repatriated Greeks’ social and vocational support. It will be a local structure for Repatriated Greeks’ accession into community and Labour Force. It will also provide information services about state’s operation and training services. Centre’s executives will provide technical support
Production of a Greek’s language training package concerning technical- vocational terminology

ANALYSIS OF MEASURE 2

The plan predicts:

Centre’s executives training
Immigrants’ training about issues concerning retailing, creation - operation of SMEs and accession into the legal economy

ANALYSIS OF MEASURE 3

1st ACTION: Job’s system reorganisation and application of effective organisation’s shapes

Establishment and operation of a commercial Centre for Immigrant retailers. This Centre will be created at the Municipality of Ilion. The Municipality will offer 0,3 Ha in an area of its property
The commercial centre will provide shelter and vocational accession for more than 50 immigrant Retailers

2nd ACTION: Technical support for the creation of small businesses or co-operatives

Creation of steady points of enterprising development
Technical support from the Municipality’s offices

3rd ACTION: Co-operation programmes with local initiatives for occupation concerning job creation

Operation of decentralising and technical support services from the support centre and the Municipalities’ support offices for the social and vocational accession of immigrants. Through those structure will be developed the opportunity of immigrants’ employment to the Municipal or Municipal’s enterprises

3rd ACTION: Nets’ creation/development of involved partners to the other European Union’s programmes

Programme IRIDE is been participate to the strengthening of REIN _ net. This network has many partners allover Europe which they materialise programmes concerning immigrants’ and displaced persons. The common actions concern social and vocational accession. This net created in 1993.
